Vinyasa Flow (hot + non-hot)
When translated from Sanskrit, vinyasa means breath synchronized movement. By linking movement and breath, this class will have you flowing through poses in a creative and energetic way. You will build strength, gain flexibility and achieve balance in the mind and body. The added heat detoxifies the body and opens up the muscles, allowing you to get deeper into your stretches. This is an open level dynamic flow.

Ashtanga-Inspired Vinyasa is a dynamic practice that connects the flow of breath with movement. This Ashtanga rooted class will focus on the Primary Series, modified to suit the individual needs of each student. Students will be given clear alignment cues and hands on adjustments to assist them deeper in a safe way. Ashtanga Yoga was popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois in the early 20th century. A strong emphasis is placed on practicing all eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, not merely asana (posture) alone. Ashtanga is a meditative practice designed to detox and purify the body, the nervous system, and the mind by combining asana (posture), pranayama (breath), and dristhi (gaze). We know that every student’s practice is different, and it is our mission to bring an accessible approach to the practice of Ashtanga-Inspired Vinyasa to our community.

Gentle Yoga + Mantra Meditation
Feeling stressed? Sluggish? Lonely? Anxious? Excited? Are you looking to deepen your yogic practice further by calling upon, and awakening “stuck” energies? Each week we will begin class with a freshly brewed cup of herbal tea that aids in saucha or “purification,” that will ease respiratory discomfort, combat exhaustion, and mental sluggishness before and during the exploration of mantra recitation, or japa, to strengthen our yogic practice through abhyasa or “repetition.” The word mantra is derived from the root “man,” meaning “to think,” and a mantra is said to be a tool by which we can control our thoughts. Mantra stands for protection (trana) of the mind (manas). We will practice the vibrations of om, and other mantras such as Om Namah Shivaya, Sita Ram, and Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu to produce positive mental habits, and overcome spiritual darkness that rests deep within us. Come awaken your incredible transformative Shakti power, and protect the mind.
Note: Bring your mala beads. No mala beads? No problem. Just bring yourself.
